Yes, back at the tick-toc, countdown clock.
Known, vehemently, as the blackard "money game".
Anyone who knows ANYTHING, about politics know this.
Quarter 3 is the slowest quarter of them all in raising monies. People are busy with school out, fishing (me, yes I got the pictures and walleyes to back it), golfing, vacationing, camping, etc. So, these campaigns end up much lower in the money game.
But this cycle is a wicked one. Meaning? I don't know what to expect.
It shows a very young Barack Obama on his mother's lap.
This ad is about healthcare, and he speaks about his mother dying at a young age of 53, without healthcare.
It is an effective ad.
Out in Iowa, Tomorrow.
I agree with Marc Armbinder, this is not what you want to read in the Des Moines Register:
"They are incredibly powerful. You can't just try to wish them away," Clinton said in a telephone interview with reporters and editors of The Des Moines Register. "They have influence in the Congress, they have influence with the public and with the business community."
And for many Americans, that is the PROBLEM. We don't want to wish them away. We want a president to tell them to GO AWAY.
For a smart woman, Clinton is outwardly wrong in this aspect. The number three item why the Republicans was ousted in 2006 was corruption, due to the Abramhoff Lobbyist Scandal, one which has put politicians behind bars and is still going on.
Sheila Jackson Lee, Congresswoman, was supposed to be on Hardball but bailed.
If those out there actually "think" that this lobbyist money don't mean anything think again.
Read THIS.
And the video here.
Just as we finished with Norman Hsu, the disgraced fundraiser that had the unique opportunity to infiltrate the democratic establishment, and forced Hillary Clinton to fork over almost one million dollars, back to donors. Well, here is another, FELON, amidst the established democratic candidate.
Mrs. Clinton's entanglement with a thrice-convicted felon named Peter Paul is proof of how long campaign-finance problems can haunt a public official. Mr. Paul became a problem for Mrs. Clinton when his criminal past became public shortly after he helped organize and finance a gala Hollywood fund-raiser for her in August 2000.Rather than drift away, Mr. Paul has been on the attack against Mrs. Clinton ever since. In a lawsuit in California state court that has been grinding along for years, Mr. Paul accuses Mrs. Clinton and former President Bill Clinton of deceiving him into spending well over $1 million on the fund-raiser for her Senate campaign. Mr. Paul contends the Clintons obtained the money by falsely promising that Mr. Clinton would become Mr. Paul's business associate after leaving the White House in January 2001. Mr. Paul also maintains that Mrs. Clinton and her campaign violated federal election law in connection with the fund-raiser.
Withdrawal Complete by Next Year.
Yes. It is about that. The real 800 pound gorilla in all our rooms, IRAQ.
No more skipping through the tulips. No more, stay the course. No more, loosing lives for a war that we know is not winnable on the ground. Just no more.
If anyone want to win this democratic nomination. You must be committed to be out of Iraq. No triangulating, stalling, don't know's, you must be committed to be out. Or you are not going to get the nomination.
All because of disgraced democratic (if you call him that) fundraiser, Norman Hsu.
Why return almost a million dollars in cash? What is really up?
Confronted with new evidence that it had ignored warnings about fundraiser Norman Hsu, Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign abruptly announced late today that it was returning $850,000 from 260 donors associated with Hsu.The announcement was made five minutes after the Los Angeles Times asked Clinton officials to respond to mid-June campaign e-mails the newspaper obtained that dismissed concerns about Hsu and his business practices.
"I can tell you with 100 [sic] certainty that Norman Hsu is NOT involved in a ponzi scheme," wrote Samantha Wolf, who had the title West Coast finance director for the campaign. She has since left the campaign. "He is COMPLETELY legit." She wrote the e-mail in June to a party official who was asking questions about Hsu and his reputation in the financial world.
Alot is going on in the Obama Campaign. I know there has been criticism with the White House Report about Iraq, that is not supposed to be out, but is OUT. And a question of leadership on Obama and Clinton. Well, that is for them to figure out, so I ran across this article about the "feel good" affect of people between these candidates.
Gallup said today that it recently tested the public images of several of the Republican and Democratic candidates running for president. "Of these, only one -- Barack Obama -- stirs up warm feelings in a majority of Americans," it found. But "Clinton's image is the most polarized of this group: nearly as many Americans say she leaves them cold as say they feel warmly toward her."Obama scores "total warm" with 53%, and "total cold" with 28%. Clinton, on the other hand, seemed warm to 49% but cold to 44%. Sen. John Edwards scored 47% warm and 32% cold.
