Wow, you must be feeling less heat, as in failing poll numbers, since you and your co-horts pandered, bragged, braced and wrapped yourselves in not only HRC's numbers but her inevitability.
I do think endorsements do not mean anything but Oprah Winfrey is in a place of her own.
She is a media mogul. She is Harpo, Inc. She is as well connected as Rupert Murdoch and when she says something, everyone listens. People do not come on her show with their goods for nothing. She moves them. So, to think if Oprah says something and people don't listen, think again. Did you see that packed auditorium? They were standing shoulder to shoulder. That speaks volumes.
And cherry picking polls. I am now starting to pay attention, as I have always believed we would not see any real movement until December.
The Iowa Caucus is 3 weeks away. The candidate that is hot is Barack Obama. And as one caller called into C-Span after the event said, they love John Edwards but he will not have the money to compete until the end. That is the make or break for Iowans about Edwards. And the part of the story is how many will leave Edwards and land in Obama's camp.
I think the people who will caucus or vote in a primary are a little more independent in their views and not easily swayed by a celeb.
Now in a general Oprah would probably have more of an effect. Some voters in the general make up the minds on the morning of election by deciding who has the best looking signs.
